Precious Metal Clay Classes

PMC II (Just a Little Experience)

Donna Lewis

Got your feet wet? Love it? Let's go! This class  will further your experience. You will weave PMC sheet to add to a focal bead, or a pendant. What an amazing result!!! You will carve a mold so you can create identical pieces. You will also learn how to carve directly onto the clay for some interesting textures. While you are molding lets try to duplicate some small item you love with a two part silicone mold material. So amazing!  You will see how to achieve a mirror finish, satin finish in addition to other treatments. And what a perfect time to spend a little time working with PMC bezels for later use.  Tellin' ya, the clay is gonna get you!  Students will need their own tools (Tool kits are available for purchase from instructor).                    $185 + $125 materials fee.                                    Tuesday10:00am–3:30 pm (2 weeks)

PMC III (Early Intermediate)

Donna Lewis

Now that you have a basic understanding, it's time to spend this class incorporating stones and glass into your work.  If you haven't already, you will set stones in PMC bezels for use in a later piece.  You will create a pendant with a small glass cab and at least one faceted stone.  You will also create small beads to accompany the pendant on its suspension using lump and syringe.  Ready to make a ring?  Yes, you are.  You get to experience some of the newer tools available for ring making.  Very cool.  You will love it.  It's time to carve a mold for a toggle.  Once you know how to create your own toggles, you can begin to personalize your pieces like never before.  Students will need their own tools (tool kits are available for purchase from instructor).
